Manufacturing Technologist II

Position Description

Manufacturing Technologist II personnel participate in all activities related to the manufacturing of Hemo bioscience products as well as process evaluation. This position is responsible for following standard operating procedures, best laboratory practices, current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and current good documentation practices (cGDP) to ensure products are manufactured and systems are maintained to meet internal and customer specifications.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Manufacturing Laboratory, technical and analytical

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

Adheres to manufacturing schedule to ensure products are prepared and released to inventory to meet shipping deadlines.

Follows SOPs, best laboratory practices, current good manufacturing practices, and current good documentation practices to ensure products are manufactured to meet specifications.

Participates in all technical and non-technical aspects of the manufacturing process from receipt of raw material to release of finished product. Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Customer label approval

  • Product label generation and printing

  • Product filling and capping

  • Lab inventory and cleaning

  • Temperature monitoring of refrigerated systems

  • Equipment maintenance

  • Specimen processing

  • Solutions preparation

  • Raw material qualification

  • Equipment IQ/OQ/PQ

  • Product Manufacturing

  • Product Testing (In-Process & Bulk QC)

  • DHR Creation & Maintenance

  • Maintenance of updates to manufacturing SOPs through document control processes

  • Process Deviation Write-ups

  • Assists with documentation of all manufacturing related activities

  • Provides suggestions for better production and staff performance

  • Assists management for various production related duties

Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Minimum Associates degree with MLT(ASCP) certification (or equivalent), or 3 years’ experience as Manufacturing Technologist I

Blood banking experience preferred but not required

cGMP manufacturing experience preferred but not required

Bachelor’s degree with MLS(ASCP) or equivalent certification desirable but not required

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts associated with working in a laboratory with regular and recurrent exposure to hazards such as blood, serum, chemicals, and laboratory equipment. On the job Blood Borne Pathogen training is required.

Marketing– Administrator

Position Description

Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing marketing communication strategies to meet organizational objectives. Obtains customer research data, Oversees all marketing, advertising and promotional communications activities. Increases sales with marketing activities.

Assists with customer service activities as needed, i.e. answers phone, order entry in enterprise system, assists with product dispatch. Provides coverage for Customer service and Inventory control.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Responsible for the marketing communications of Hemo bioscience INC. to external agencies and customers.

Contributes to annual marketing plan in conjunction with the president and other marketing staff members details communication activities for the fiscal year, this should focus and achieve organizational objectives including desired sales budget.

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

  • Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

  • Demonstrates technical marketing skills and product knowledge of Blood typing reagents and the diagnostics marketplace

  • Hemo bioscience web site content administration.

  • Hemo bioscience social media content administration.

  • Use of mailing list to perform email blasts and sell products.

  • Organization of and attendance (as needed) at trade shows including state run shows and the AABB annual show.

  • Preparation and follow up of sales quotes for potential customers.

  • Respond to customer inquiries for pricing and product questions.

  • Outgoing calls to prospective customers.

  • Market survey administration and use of market surveys to verify market information and contribute to post market surveillance.

  • To manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution.

  • The achievement of frequent, timely and positive media coverage for Hemo bioscience and it’s programs across all available media.

  • Specifying market advertising requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by data gathering.

  • Developing and implementing a company-wide communications plan, working with all departments to execute.

  • Provide coverage to customer service, dispatch/inventory positions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2-4 years of sales or marketing experience in a relevant industry.

  • Marketing or communications background.

  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

  • Willingness to travel and work in a team of professionals.

  • Ideal candidate will have technical expertise in Immunohematology

  • Technical marketing skills
